REG2026 Challenge on Reasoning-Guided Pathology AI is now Open

The Pathologist Reasoning-Guided Report Generation Challenge (REG2026) at MICCAI 2026 introduces a novel direction in computational pathology.
REG2026 advances computational pathology by moving beyond report generation toward reasoning-guided analysis of whole slide images (WSI). Building on REG2025, this year's challenge, which requires explicit, clinically grounded reasoning, aligns more closely with pathology practice. Solutions must not only generate reports but also provide transparent justification aligned with diagnostic practice.
The challenge is organized within the MICCAI framework and hosted on the Grand Challenge platform. Schüffler Lab at the Institute of Pathology at TUM is contributing to the organization and scientific development of the challenge.
